There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Plumpton and Leicester and an all-weather flat fixture from Kempton.  It looks like a busy day ahead for the stable with runners at each of the meetings.  At Plumpton we run Gericault Roque and Grangeclare Glory, at Leicester we are represented by Paricolor and Major Robinson and on the all-weather, Broughtons Admiral contests the staying handicap on the level.

Gericault Roque contests the 2m maiden hurdle at Plumpton at 1.30pm.  He produced a good first effort under rules when runner-up behind a useful type at Newton Abbot in October, staying on in good style in the closing stages.  Placed in an Irish point-to-point, we know that he can jump so he looks to have every chance under Tom Scudamore.  The Gary Moore horse was placed in Group 3 company on the flat and looks to be the one to beat.

Grangeclare Glory runs in the second division of the maiden at 2.00pm.  He had shown promise to finish in the frame in an Irish point before disappointing on his rules debut in a Wincanton bumper.  He is better than that effort and would look to have each-way claims this afternoon.  Tom Scu is in the saddle.

Over at Leicester, Paricolor (pictured above) bids for a third course success at Leicester in the 1.40pm race.  He clearly handles conditions very well and already has a decision over Ferobim.  Winning jockey Fergus Gillard is in the saddle and he takes a useful 5lbs off his back.  Looks to have leading claims.

Major Robinson runs in the 1m7½f novices' hurdle at 3.40pm.  He took a big step forward when third in a hot-looking contest on his hurdling debut at Newbury last time and hopefully can build on that effort here.  Looks to have solid place claims here.

Broughtons Admiral runs in the 2m flat handicap at Kempton at 8.20pm.  A useful hurdler, he has been placed a number of times from this sort of mark on the level.  He has plenty of stamina and could quite easily outrun his odds under Tom Marquand.

Little Red Lion fell at Wetherby yesterday afternoon.  He was just creeping into contention under Fergus Gillard when he capsized at the fifth from home.  The good news is that he is alright and there will be other days for this progressive gelding.

It is very sad to hear that Prince Khalid Abdullah has passed away at the age of 83.  He owned and bred some incredible horses all over the world through the years including Dancing Brave, Enable, Arrogate and of course, Frankel to name but a few.  He will be very much missed but what a racing legacy he has created through his Juddmonte breeding operation.

There is Premiership football action tonight as Manchester City host Brighton, whilst Spurs are at home to Fulham.  It looks like a couple of comfortable home wins in my opinion.

There were shock defeats in the Masters snooker yesterday with former world champions Neil Roberston and Mark Selby both losing.  Yan Bigtao beat Robertson in a thrilling 6-5 finish, whilst Stephen Maguire defeated Mark Selby 6-3.  The winners will face each other in the quarter finals.
