Panic Attack was the ready winner of the mares' handicap hurdle at Newbury yesterday afternoon.  Prominent throughout, she jumped into the lead at the third last before powering clear between the last two flights of hurdles under Tom Scudamore.  Her jumping was extremely good and it looks for all the world as though she will stay a bit further, whilst she would also appear better suited by a flatter track.  You couldn't help but be impressed by the manner of victory and she remains an exciting prospect going forward.

Nordic Combined was in the process of running another solid race in the 2m4f handicap hurdle when falling at the last.  The good news is that he seems alright after the race.  He is always there or thereabouts and should continue to be competitive.

Following the abandonment of Haydock earlier in the week due to snow, there are just three meetings taking place on these shores today.  There are jumps cards from Market Rasen and Taunton as well as an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton.  David has three runners today; Iron Heart, Dell' Arca and Little Red Lion.

Iron Heart contests the juvenile hurdle at 1.05pm.  A dual winner on the flat, he has shown plenty of ability in two starts over timber, finishing third at Wincanton (behind a subsequent winner) and was not beaten far at Newbury last time.  Fergus Gillard is in the saddle and he has each-way claims.  Iron Heart is owned by the Decimus Racing syndicate, and I know they a couple of 1/10th shares available in this handsome son of Muhaarar.  Do get in touch with our office if you would like more information on how you can get involved with this well organised and enjoyable group.

Ever popular veteran, Dell' Arca runs in the 3m handicap hurdle at 1.35pm.  He has been in tremendous form this season, winning at Aintree and Newbury and was far from disgraced in his bid for a hat-trick last time out.  He remains on a fair mark given his old form and this should be less competitive than last time.  He has top weight to contend with but Fergus claims a handy 5lbs off his back and whilst he is possibly better left-handed, he looks to have an each-way chance today.

Our final runner is Little Red Lion who runs in the 2m7f novices' handicap chase at 2.05pm.  He was unlucky to be brought down at Ffos Las on his chasing debut, but quickly made up for that when a good winner at Lingfield next time out.  He is 5lbs higher today but is still only young and lightly raced and open to further improvement.  Fergus Gillard takes 5lbs off his back and he looks to have a good chance in the colours of the David Pipe Racing Club.  For more information on how you can get involved click here.

Manchester United were able to beat Wolves in a tight match last night to move second in the Premiership.  For all the fans are moaning about the boring style of play, they are at least getting the results...you just can't please some people!  Leeds put five past hapless West Brom and I bet the supporters of either side would like to be where United are now.

Spurs host Fulham tonight at 6pm, whilst Newcastle are at home to league leaders Liverpool at 8pm.
