Following the abandonment of Bangor yesterday due to waterlogging, we are left with just two meetings.  There is jumps action from Fakenham and an all-weather flat fixture from Southwell.  David has one runner today as Gabrielle du Seuil makes the trip to Fakenham to contest the 2m handicap hurdle at 2.20pm.  She showed promise in two starts in France and was far from disgraced on her seasonal reappearance.  The four ahead of her that day have all run creditably since, with the winner and fourth both scoring subsequently.  She is 10lbs lower today in what looks a less competitive race and looks to have each-way claims under Tom Scudamore.

The eyes of the racing world will be on Sports Personality of the Year tonight as Hollie Doyle represents the industry at the BBC event on the back of her meteoric season on the flat.  There has been strong support in the betting markets for her so let's hope that is a good indicator.  She faces stiff opposition in the shape of Lewis Hamilton, who became Formula One world champion for the seventh time this season, along the way becoming the winning-most driver of all time.  Hollie is a wonderful ambassador for the sport and we wish her well - the sport has rallied behind her and pictured above you will see a photograph of Main Fact (with Gerry Supple) posing in his #VoteHollie beanie hat!

There are four Premiership football matches taking place this afternoon and Spurs versus Leicester looks to be the pick of them.  Tottenham were perhaps a little unlucky to lose to Liverpool earlier in the week and can make amends here.

Following some terrible selections in the NFL last week, I can only get better.  I will be looking for an acca on the Packers, Titans, Ravens, Rams, Browns and Steelers to give me an interest.  They are all short prices so I will still have to come to work tomorrow!  My beloved Vikings take on divisional rivals the Chicago Bears and whilst the Vikes won their previous meeting earlier in the season, both teams are far too inconsistent to be confident.  They dropped out of a wildcard spot to the playoffs when beaten last week and need to win this and hope for a Cardinals loss to refill that spot.
