Moon's Debut At Southwell

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Sedgefield and Southwell and all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David has one runner today; Neon Moon who contests the bumper at Southwell.  Neon Moon (pictured above) makes his debut for the stable today having won an Irish point-to-point on his latest outing in September, looking a useful type in the process.  He goes nicely at home and should go well, although there look to be some other promising sorts in the line-up and this could prove to be a very decent bumper.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle and he has each-way claims.

There was good news for the industry yesterday afternoon when the Prime Minister announced that betting shops would be able to reopen once lockdown was lifted next week and that up to 4,000 people would be allowed to attend sporting events.  Let's hope that we can prove that it can be done safely.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both in action tonight in Champions League football.  Chelsea visits Rennes whilst United are home to Istanbul.  Chelsea are all but through, although United could do with a victory to make sure.

The snooker action seems to be coming thick and fast at the moment.  Judd Trump won a third consecutive Northern Ireland Open in Milton Keynes on Sunday and already the UK Championship is underway.  Guess where the venue is?  That's right, Milton Keynes.  Mark Selby, John Higgins and Mark Williams were among the big names to progress yesterday.  Ronnie O'Sullivan will start his campaign tomorrow, whilst Trump plays on Thursday.

Yesterday I told David that there were companies were after me and I needed a raise to stay in my job. We haggled for a few minutes until finally he gave me a 5 % raise.

Leaving his office, he stopped and asked me, “By the way, which companies are after you?” I responded, “The gas and electric companies.”
