There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Ffos Las, Hexham and Warwick, whilst there is an all-weather flat fixture from Kempton.  David has three runners today at Ffos Las; Little Red Lion, Broughtons Admiral and Dusky Hercules. Our first runner of the day is Little Red Lion (pictured above) who contests the 2m5f novices' handicap chase at Ffos Las at 1.05pm.  The meeting survived an inspection and the ground is going to be very testing which will suit our six year old who was a winner over 3m1f on his final start over hurdles last season.  He will certainly be keeping on when others have had enough.  He has schooled well at home over fences and winning jockey Fergus Gillard takes 7lbs off his back.  It is a wide open race but he looks to have sound claims.

Broughtons Admiral runs in the 2m6f handicap hurdle at 2.50pm.  He is another that won't mind the heavy ground having won on it over 3m1½f at Hereford in January.  He remains 6lbs higher than that last winning mark so this will require more, but Fergus Gillard claims a handy 7lbs and he has each-way claims at a decent price for the Value Racing Club.

Our final runner on the card is Great Tempo in the 3m handicap chase at 3.25pm.  The ground has been very testing for each of his wins which will obviously stand him in good stead here.  He is 3lbs higher than when scoring at Taunton last season so he has a chance on that basis, although his overall profile is a little in and out.  Fergus Gillard knows him well and his claim will certainly come in handy.  With two runners for the David Pipe Racing Club, it is certainly an exciting day for the members...and with Christmas just around the corner a membership would make an ideal gift for the racing enthusiast in your family.  You can find out more details by clicking here.

England take on Iceland tonight at Wembley in UEFA Nations League action.  It is a meaningless match as far as England are concerned as they are no longer able to qualify for the latter stages of the competition having been beaten for a second time by Belgium.  Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

As you may well know, I had a late night the night before last.  Fortunately I slept like a log last night...I woke up in the fireplace!

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well.  I was really surprised...I never believed they worked!
