There are five meetings on these shores today with flat action from Ascot, Catterick and Wolverhampton, whilst over the jumps there are fixtures from Market Rasen and Stratford.  David has two runners today; Lady Reset who runs at Stratford and Ramses de Teillee who takes in the French Champion Hurdle from Auteuil.  Lady Reset contests a 2m½f female jockeys' handicap hurdle at 4.40pm.  A dual winner on the flat, she showed promise in a couple of runs over timber but did not like the soft ground at Bangor last time.  This is her first start in a handicap and she is partnered by the excellent Isabel Williams, who has ridden winners for us.  The ground should suit and she looks to have solid claims.

Over in France, Ramses de Teillee (pictured above) takes in the big race at Auteuil as he contests the Grade 1 Grande Courses de Haies d'Auteuil at 4.00pm (our time).  It is a hurdle (although the obstacles are more like small fences) over 3m1½f and is a race that the stable has won in the past with Un Temps Pout Tout.  Ramses had a great campaign last season, winning three times over timber - he stays and jumps well and will handle the testing ground.  Tom Scudamore is on board and he would have each-way claims, although it is a very tough race and he has a lot on his plate to concede 9lbs to local hero L'Autonomie.

It is Champions' Day at Ascot and there is a cracking good card as you would expect with a number of superstars on the menu.  Stradivarius makes a quick return to action after flopping in the Arc last time.  I have heard a lot of people asking if his star is on the wane after three defeats, which frankly I find ridiculous.  He was awesome in the Gold Cup again and has only been beaten at a trip of 1m4f this term - a mile short of his best!  It could be a good day for Gosden and Dettori as they also saddle top-notcher Palace Pier.  It looks like a day in front of the television is in order!

Eden du Houx proved a bit disappointing on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon.  He jumped well for a first attempt at the larger obstacles but was just left behind in the closing stages.  He will certainly improve for the experience and is better than he was able to show here.

We are pleased to bring you the latest instalment of our horses to follow series this morning.  A little earlier in the week we caught up with amateur jockey Sean O'Connor, to see what he had to say, click on the image below...

The early football match this afternoon is a local derby with Everton hosting Liverpool - these games are always interesting, especially with Everton currently topping the table.  Manchester City versus Arsenal also promises to be an entertaining match.

Talk about hitting form at the right time.  After a couple of shaky performance early on, Judd Trump has hit form with a vengeance in the English Open snooker.  The world number one beat world championship runner-up Kyren Wilson 5-1 to set up a semi-final clash with John Higgins.  Meanwhile, the other semi-final looks a cracker with Mark Selby taking on Neil Robertson for a place in the final.
