3 Southwell Runners

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Ayr and Bath supported by a jumps fixture from Southwell.  David has three runners at Southwell today (Sexy Lot is a non-runner in the 3.50pm race) courtesy of Golden Jeffrey, Malangen and Miss M.  Golden Jeffrey and Malangen contest the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 2.50pm and the former is weighted to go well from 8lbs below his last winning mark.  The trouble is that was almost two years ago and he would have to take a step forward on what he has shown recently to figure.  Malangen (pictured above) was a good winner last time out over course and distance and he is not unfeasibly weighted from a mark 3lbs higher than his last handicap success over hurdles (and 2lbs lower than over fences).  The good ground should suit and he has sound claims under Tom Scu.

Miss M was also a course and distance winner last time out, producing a good first effort over timber and she looks to have a great chance in the 3.20pm race.  She has a penalty to carry but still receives 7lbs from the other previous winner Totally Rejected.  That one was given a very easy lead last time and looks to be the one to beat.  Tom Scudamore is aboard our mare.

England are firmly on top in the final test match against Pakistan.  The hosts made 583-8 dec largely due to sensation innings from Zak Crawley (267) and Jos Buttler (152) who put on a fourth innings stand of 359 runs.  They then bowled Pakistan out for 273 with James Anderson excelling with the ball as he claimed five wickets, forcing the visitors to follow-on.  England will desperately be hoping for a dry day today as the forecast for the final day is horrendous.

Bayern Munich were by far the best side as they carved out an efficient 1-0 win over Paris St Germain to claim their sixth Champions League title, the first to be held behind closed doors.

There is a guy is dining alone in a fancy restaurant and a beautiful redhead sitting at the next table. He’s been checking her out ever since he arrived, but doesn’t have the courage to start talking to her.

Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. His reflexes kick in and he reaches out, plucks it out of the air and hands it back to her.

The redhead is mortified. “Oh my, I am so sorry,” she says as she pops her eye back into place. “Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you.” So he joins her table and they enjoy a wonderful meal together. Afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks at a bar. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. 

After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap. He says yes and they return to her place.  He ends up staying the night and the next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed at how everything has been so perfect and how incredible this woman is. He can’t believe his luck. “You know,” he said, “you are the perfect woman, are you this nice to every guy you meet?”

“No,” she replies, “You just happened to catch my eye.”
