There are three meetings taking place this afternoon, but if you are a fan of the jumps you are out of luck.  The action comes from Salisbury, Thirsk and Windsor although the big race of the day is in Ireland where the Curragh host the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes for two year old's.  There is a strong English challenge care of The Lir Jet and Ventura Tormenta.  It is good to see some of the races from Salisbury, Thirsk and the Curragh being broadcast on ITV3.  Any coverage on terrestrial stations has to be considered a good thing and will hopefully continue to make the sport more accessible to casual viewers.

There are no runners from Pond House this afternoon, although we will have a couple at Southwell tomorrow when Yaa Salaam and Miss M compete so come back then for our thoughts on those.

It is a good day for sporting action as not only is there a bit of racing on the box, there is also the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix taking place at Silverstone.  Meanwhile, it is the final day of the first test between England and Pakistan and the snooker continues at Sheffield.

I bought some shoes from a drug dealer last week.  I don’t know what he laced them with, but I was tripping all day!

What do you call an elephant that doesn’t matter? An irrelephant!

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillow? It’s making headlines.
