There is a busy day ahead with four meetings taking place.  There are flat cards from Ascot, York and Wolverhampton, whilst there is a jumps fixture from Cartmel.  The team face an early start this morning with our two Cartmel runners; I’lletyougonow and Paricolor leaving the yard at 4am.

I’lletyougonow contests the 2m1f novices’ hurdle at 12.50pm.  A winner on the level at Windsor, she showed the benefit of her first run over hurdles when a clear runner-up at Stratford last time out.  Hopefully she can progress again and with bottom weight of 10-5 she looks to have decent prospects under Tom Scudamore.

Paricolor (pictured above) makes his chasing debut in the 2m5f novices’ handicap chase at 2.35pm.  Our four year old had a good season over hurdles last year, winning twice and he gets a very useful 16lbs weight allowance owing to his age.  He has schooled well at home and whilst he is yet to prove himself over the trip, he stayed two miles on the flat and shapes as though it will suit.  Tom Scu is in the saddle and he should go well.

Meanwhle, there is some televised action on terrestrial stations with ITV4 covering York and Ascot’s cards which feature a couple of Group 3 races as well as a Listed contest.

With the British Grand Prix taking place next Sunday, the Formula One bosses are still trying to finalise the remaining fixture list.  It must be strange competing in a series where there are ever-changing goal posts and no official end yet.

The Americas have lost all four of their proposed races in Mexico, USA, Brazil and Canada cancelled as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.  It is better news for Europe where additional races have been confirmed in Portugal, Italy and Germany.

I had an email from Google the other day saying, “At Google Earth, we can read maps backwards”.  I thought to myself, “That’s just spam”!
