There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Newmarket, Beverley and Ripon as well as a jumps card from Newton Abbot.  There are a couple of runners for the team today as Jasmin des Bordes and Percy Street go at Newton Abbot's evening fixture.  Jasmin des Bordes contests the 3m2½f handicap hurdle at 6.05pm.  He has plenty of placed form in point-to-points, bumpers and hurdles that would give him a chance here.  He was disappointing on his return to action but is 5lbs lower in the handicap now, despite having to carry topweight.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  Our other runner at the meeting is Percy Street (pictured above) who runs in the 2m5½f handicap hurdle at 6.35pm.  It is a competitive little contest but he is consistent and won over hurdles at Wincanton last season from a 1lb higher mark and will certainly like this ground.  Amateur jockey Fergus Gillard takes a handy 7lbs off his back and he is not without a chance.

We didn't manage to get on the scoresheet at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon but most of our runners performed creditably.  Midnight Magic fared the best, finishing third in the staying handicap chase.  He travelled nicely but was just done for speed in the closing stages.  He looks well capable of winning again over fences.  Story Of Friends took an unfortunate tumble at the last when staying on which is a shame as he would have finished in the frame but there will be other days for him.  Airton finished fifth in the 2m4f handicap hurdle which was a step back in the right direction.  He looked as though he was going to be well beaten turning for home but stayed on again and looks as though a stiffer test would suit.

I see that David has been advertising a three year old filly for sale over the past couple of days.  To Fly Free was a winner on the flat in France and is fit and ready to run.  She has already been schooled over hurdles with a view to running in juvenile contests shortly.  She looks to be excellent value for money and would be ideal for somebody who is looking to own their first racehorse.  More details can be found on our horses for sale page, or give the office a call on 01884 840715, we would love to hear from you.
