There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with two flat cards from Chepstow and Sandown supported by jumps fixtures from Stratford and Perth.  David has one runner this afternoon as Leoncavallo (pictured above) runs in the 2m5f novices' chase at Stratford at 1.20pm.  He was a very useful hurdler, winning on numerous occasions and showed that he still retains plenty of ability when runner-up on his first start for the stable on the flat last month when beaten only a nose.  He had run over fences once previously when second at Worcester in September 2018.  He has pleased in his schooling at home and looks to hold solid claims this afternoon under Tom Scudamore.

Tom Scu has a couple of rides on the card, whilst David Noonan has picked up three outside rides.  It is good to see former champion jockey Richard Johnson back in the saddle after giving up his rides on Sunday and Monday.  The birthday boy, who is 43 today has five mounts at Stratford and I am sure he will be hoping for a winner to help him celebrate.

It was good to see England beat the West Indies in the second cricket test match at Old Trafford yesterday.  Ben Stokes was great with the bat in both innings and Stuart Broad produced a couple of great spells with the ball to give England a comfortable victory and level the series.  It sets up a fascinating clash in the third and final match of the series which gets underway on Friday.  Let's hope England can maintain the momentum and close out the series with another win.

There are a couple of Premiership football matches taking place tonight although they look to be fairly one-sided on paper.  Watford play host to Manchester City, whilst Arsenal are away to Aston Villa.  It looks like a couple of away wins to me.

I was walking down the road the other day when I saw my mother-in-law fall over.  I did well not to laugh, but the pavement cracked up!
