          Percy Street on the Gallops

Both our two mares ran well at Stratford yesterday.  I'lletyougonow finished second in the first division of the mares hurdle at odds of 25/1.  She was quite keen early but jumped really well on only her second start over hurdles and moved through to challenge approaching the last but could not quite go with the favourite after that.  The course had had quite a bit of rain which made the ground softer than ideal for both of our runners.  While they both handled conditions, both would have preferred the rain to have stayed away.  Lady Reset also ran well on her hurdling debut in the second division of the mares novices hurdle to finish fourth.  They went no pace at all early which did not suit but she held every chance turning for home.  While the favourite who finished second has a rating of 130 which is probably too high, it shows that our filly ran to a fairly good level of form to be not be too far behind that one.  She jumped well and the most important thing is that both horses are fine this morning.  They have both been on the horse walker and are out in the paddocks for a pick of grass and both will be capable of winning over hurdles this summer.

We actually have no runners at Market Rasen on Friday.  Originally the plan was to run Leoncavallo in the Summer handicap hurdle but we changes are minds and there will be other opportunities for him.  He could get an entry in the Galway hurdle at the end of this month.  He finished third in the race a couple of years ago and we may look to to see if he can go two places better.  Malangen was also entered at Market Rasen but again we decided to wait for another opportunity.  Both horses are fit and well and will be out on the track soon.

This morning we will be declaring Percy Street to run on the flat at Ascot on Saturday.  He runs in the 1m6f handicap at 1.30pm off a mark of 89.  We have actually only run him twice on the level since he joined the yard and that was at Royal Ascot in the Ascot Stakes.  The trip on Saturday will be much more to his liking and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.  He is twice a winner on the flat previously and has some useful form.  He is in good form at home and fingers crossed he will run okay.

On Sunday we have two entries at Bangor.  Le Grand Rocher is entered in the novices hurdle while Airton holds an entry in the 2m7f handicap hurdle.  Whether they run or not will depend on the going so keep checking back here for more news in the next few days.  At present we have no entries after Sunday as yet but with jumping action at Uttoxeter next week we are likely to have some entries there.
