There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Warwick and Catterick and a couple of all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Kempton.  David has two runners today; I'lletyougonow and Main Fact.  I'lletyougonow (pictured above) makes her debut for the stable in the 2m juvenile hurdle at Warwick at 1.00pm.  This is also her first start over hurdles but she showed a decent level of ability on the flat at distances of around a mile.  This looks like a decent contest with several of her rivals already showing a good level of form.  She is entitled to learn plenty for the experience but has schooled well at home.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  Our other runner is Main Fact who contests the 2m handicap hurdle at 4.15pm.  He produced a very good effort last time after a 600 day absence to finish a very close third at Exeter.  He is 6lbs higher this afternoon, which obviously makes life harder, but that form has been well advertised with the first two home winning again since.  Good chance under Tom Scudamore.

We didn't manage to get on the board at Exeter yesterday with Sexy Lot our best result, filling fourth in the maiden.  On a day when it paid to be handy, she performed very encouragingly on her hurdling debut, making ground smoothly from the rear, before staying on at one pace from the last under David Noonan.  This was her first start for almost six months so she is fully entitled to improve and hopefully she can land something similar.

There was bad news for champion jockey Richard Johnson yesterday when he broke his arm in a fall at Exeter.  He broke his right arm between his elbow and his hand and that spells disaster for his prospects of securing a fifth jockeys' championship as he was locked in a close battle with northern based jockey Brian Hughes.  Johnson says that he will nonetheless be back in time for the Cheltenham Festival which is less than seven weeks away now.  These jockeys really are made of strong stuff...I can't imagine a Premiership footballer looking to get back so quickly!

There are some good midweek football matches to look forward to tonight as Leicester take on West Ham, Spurs play Norwich and Manchester United host Burnley.  United will be without striker Marcus Rashford for at least two months with a stress fracture to his back and they will certainly feel his absence.  At present they are holding on to a very tenuous fifth position in the table.

Now, I'm sure that the sport takes plenty of skill, but I was flicking through the television channels last night, only to see the world bowls championship was being covered by the BBC.  It is hardly an adrenaline ride is it?  Is this the best sporting action our licence fee can cover nowadays?  At least it helped me to fall asleep!

I was caught in the office sniffing Tippex the other day...I've since been admitted to a correction centre!
