Following another 13mm of rain overnight at Pond House, I can't say that I am surprised to hear that they have decided to hold an early morning inspection at Exeter ahead of their meeting this afternoon.  Fortuntately it was given the go ahead so there are four meetings taking place with jumps cards from Exeter and Hereford supported by all-weather flat fixtures from Southwell and Wolverhampton.  David has three runners at Exeter this afternoon; Ghost Serge, Little Red Lion and Great Tempo (pictured above).

Ghost Serge is our first runner in the 2m2½f handicap hurdle at 2.20pm.  A winner on the flat and over hurdles, he has plenty of ability, but refused to race on his debut for the yard last time.  Hopefully there will be no recurrence of that and he would have each-way claims under Tom Scudamore.

Great Tempo is the first of our two David Pipe Racing Club runners and he contests the 3m handicap chase at 2.50pm  He was plugging on to finish fourth over 2m5f at Ffos Las last time and is now 5lbs lower in the weights.  This longer trip looks sure to suit and the testing ground will hold no terrors for him.  Promising young amateur Fergus Gillard takes 7lbs off his back and he has each-way claims.

Little Red Lion runs in the amateur riders' handicap hurdle at 3.50pm.  He was well-beaten over hurdles last term, but was a close second to a promising type in a bumper prior to that so clearly has some ability.  He tackles a longer trip on his handicap debut today and is partnered by Fergus Gillard who claims a handy 5lbs.  Urtheonethatiwant looks a solid favourite but our chap has each-way prospects.

Liverpool won through to the final of the Club World Cup by beating Monterrey in Doha yesterday.  They are a very short-price to win the final which takes place on Sunday.  From the side they turned out in the EFL Cup midweek, you can see that this trophy means an awful lot more to the reds.

We will all be cheering for Justin Pipe as he get his World Darts Championship campaign underway today at the Ally Pally.  The Taunton based arrowsmith is a short price to see off Slovenian Benjamin Pratnemer.
