There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Cheltenham, Uttoxeter and Wetherby whilst there are two all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  It is fantastic news that Cheltenham gets the go ahead after an inspection yesterday afternoon.  The third last will be omitted on both the hurdle and chase card and the 2m5f novices' hurdle that was scheduled for yesterday kicks off the card at 12.05pm.  It is a bid day for the stable with David having six runners at Cheltenham today; Poker Play, Ramses de Teillee, Eamon An Cnoic, Warthog, Vieux Lion Rouge (pictured above) and Remastered.

Poker Play contests the 3m novices' chase at 1.15pm.  He was an impressive winner over 2m5f at Ffos Las last time out, jumping well and winning a shade comfortably from a subsequent winner.  This is a tight little contest with all of the field rated in the 130's with the exception of favourite, Wholestone.  He has a bit to find to beat him on these terms but he will love the testing ground and should go well under Tom Scudamore.

Ramses de Teillee was an impressive winner at Cheltenham's last meeting over hurdles and we will be hoping that he can repeat the dose returned to fences in the 3m3½f handicap chase at 1.50pm.  He was a most progressive chaser last season, winning at Chepstow and finishing runner-up in the Welsh National and the Grand National Trial.  He looked as good as ever last time and will relish these conditions and has leading claims with Tom Scudamore in the saddle.

The stable is doubly represented in the feature BetVictor Chase at 2.25pm.  Eamon An Cnoic finished fifth in the race last year and was a good fourth at the Cheltenham Festival in March and richly deserves a nice prize.  He has a little bit to do to turn the form around with Siruh du Luc but has each-way claims in a very competitive contest.  Warthog is our other runner and he won first time up last season at Sandown under similar conditions.  He is 7lbs higher this afternoon so will require a personal best under David Noonan.

Vieux Lion Rouge reverts to hurdles for the first time since running in the Martin Pipe at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival.  He showed that he retains all of his ability when a good winner of a valuable veteran's chase at Chepstow on his seasonal debut and can compete from a 2lbs lower mark today.  He has schooled well over timber at home and a repeat of that effort would give him every chance.  Tom Scu rides.

Remastered is our final runner in the 2m5f handicap hurdle at 3.30pm.  A very promising hurdler last season, he will relish these testing conditions.  You can draw a line through his seasonal reappearance as he is clearly better than that effort with a reproduction of his best form giving him every chance under Tom Scudamore.

There is international football action taking place tonight with the Welsh and Scots both playing, although their chances of qualifying for the latter stages of the competition looking slim.

The Brazilian Grand Prix takes place this weekend and the Ferrari's were looking good during practice with Sebastian Vettel leading the way.  However, with both the drivers and constructors titles already decided there is little to play for.
