There was a nice winner for the yard at Worcester yesterday afternoon as Know The Score (pictured above) ran out a very game winner of the 2m7f novices' handicap chase on his first start over fences.  He jumped extremely well and battled on under a good ride from David Noonan to win by ½ length with a long way back to the third home.  There looked to be plenty of promising types in the line-up so this should throw up plenty of winners going forward and our charge looks to be a lovely staying chaser in the making.  Israel Champ finished sixth in the bumper on the same card having cut out much of the running.  This also had the look of a useful race and our fellow, an Irish point-to-point winner already looks to be crying out for a trip and a set of obstacles.  Over at Fontwell, Eden du Houx bumped into one in the maiden hurdle behind I K Brunel.  They came miles clear of the third and he is sure to get off the mark over hurdles sooner rather than later.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps fixtures from Carlisle, Ludlow and Southwell supported by flat cards from Chelmsford and Wolverhampton.  David has two runners today; Midnight Magic at Ludlow and Fort Summer at Southwell.  Midnight Magic contests the 3m handicap chase at 2.35pm and our seven year old won last time out at Wincanton.  He is 6lbs higher today and the ground is going to be more testing but he still has scope for improvement over fences.  Regular rider David Noonan is in the saddle again today.

Fort Summer runs in the bumper at 4.55pm and he boasts some reasonable form in Irish point-to-points.  There are a few potentially decent rivals but we are a big price and could surprise a few people under Tom Scudamore.

There is a big football match in Scotland tonight as Celtic take on Lazio at 8pm on BT Sport.  Sean, you can back them at 13/8!  Meanwhile, Manchester United are away to Partizan and United are 11/8.  I will probably have a bit of that...I know, I must be mad backing United!

Josh Hill has become the youngest male player to win a world golf ranking event but couldn't claim his money as he is still an amateur.  The 15 year old won the AL Ain Open in the United Arab Emirates...can you imagine not being able to collect your winnings?  He must be gutted, although the future for him is certainly bright.

Thought for the day...A parking warden is simply a prefect he reached their full potential!  Keep smiling...
