There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat fixtures from Newmarket, Kempton and Wolverhampton, whilst there are jumps cards from Worcester and Fontwell. It is an exciting day for the stable with three runners across both the jumps fixtures; Know The Score and Israel Champ at Worcester and Eden du Houx (pictured above) at Fontwell.

At Fontwell Eden du Houx runs in the 2m3f maiden hurdle at 3.50pm.  He was a non-runner at Exeter yesterday as the ground was too quick.  Our five year old has won all three of his starts so far - an Irish point-to-point and two bumpers and he looks to be a very exciting prospect.  Tom Scudamore rides.

Now, over at Worcester Know The Score runs in the 2m7f novices’ chase at Worcester at 1.15pm. A Irish point-to-point, bumper and hurdles winner, all of his wins have come with cut in the ground. He is an 8/1 chance according to the Racing Post and he looks to have a solid each-way chance under David Noonan.

Israel Champ contests the bumper at 1.45pm. He has had just one run in an Irish point-to-point which he won very easily on good/yielding ground.  He goes well at home and looks to have a decent chance under David Noonan.

Jean Valjean crashed through a running rail at Yarmouth, ran across the golf course and ended up by the sea on a nearby beach. The horse had a few cuts but escaped serious injury.  It is lucky it isn't summer as they might have been people on the beach.

There is early football action tonight as Ajax play Chelsea at 5.55pm on BT Sports.  This looks a hard match for Chelsea and I am going to back Ajax at 7/5.  Sorry, David - a Chelsea fan, along with his son Jack and eldest daughter Sophie.  Both Spurs and Manchester City scored five goals last night and won very easily.  My short-priced double earned me a few quid!

A Russian ice hockey team have been fined after their coach said he would set fire to the referee's car.  Alexander Gulyavtsev said that he meant it as "a joke", adding "I said car, it's not as if I said apartment".  I am glad he cleared that one up!
