There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Ascot and Southwell as well as two jump fixtures from Fontwell and Hexham.  It looks like a quiet day for David Noonan (pictured above), perhaps he is off celebrating his birthday?  David is 24 years old today so let's hope that he has a great day.  Wouldn't I love to be 24 again?!

The top of the jockeys' championship looks interesting with Brian Hughes and Richard Johnson slugging it out at Hexham.  Hughes has four rides but not one of them is a favourite, whilst Johnson has three mounts at the northern track.  Despite a combined seven rides, it looks as though they may struggle for a winner.  That will be music to the ears of the bread and butter jockeys.

I see that French jockey Gerard Mosse joined the ranks of Enable supporters who claim she is unbeatable in this weekend's Arc.  She is a special horse and looks unbeatable to me too.  There are five Group races on their card tomorrow and it is a similar story on Sunday so most of our leading jockeys are over there for the weekend.

Birmingham take on Middlesbrough tonight on Sky Sports at 7.45pm.  It is not a particularly sexy match, but with Birmingham not scoring many goals, it may well be worth taking a punt on Middlesbrough at 23/10 to give me some interest.  Meanwhile, Manchester United drew 0-0 with AZ Alkmaar.  United did not get a single shot on target, yet their manager Ole said they were good!  I must have been watching a different match!  Arsenal were 4-0 winners over Standard Liege.

England take on Argentina in the rugby world cup tomorrow morning at 9am.  The majority of people I have spoken with are piling into England to win by 21-30 points at 7/2.  That implies that it is going to be yet another one-sided match to me.  Sorry, but I just can't seem to get into this sport.

There is a big match for Andy Murray today as he plays Dominic Thiem in the quater finals of the China Open tennis.  Let's hope that he has sufficiently recovered from his last match and continues to improve.

My mother-in-law fell in a wishing well yesterday.  I was amazed...I didn't think they worked!  Have a great day...
