Dell'arca runs in the Kerry National

Today we have four meetings in England plus a jumps card at Listowel in Ireland.  Dell'arca runs in the Kerry National at Listowel at 4.15pm.  There are 17 runners in this competitive handicap chase over three miles on yielding ground.  Dell'arca was fourth in this race year and we are hoping he can run well again.  Tom Scu was due to ride but unfortunately he broke his wrist when he fell on Malangen at Worcester yesterday so David Noonan will now be on board.  Tom is also undergoing further tests on his back so we are keeping our fingers crossed these results come back clear.  It looks a very open race and we are 22/1 in the paper.  The favourite for the race is the Enda Bolger trained Movewiththetimes at 100/30.  He bolted up last time out at Killarney on yielding ground and only carries 10st 2lb.  David is going over and we will see if we can bring home a bit of prize money.

It is the Legends race at Doncaster today at 3.35pm although I am not sure all of them are legends!  Luke Harvey a legend?!  I must be missing something!!  Seriously though t is fantastic they are all doing this race for charity, Luke is brilliant on the TV and he wasn't a bad jockey in his day either!  There is also racing on the beach at Laytown today, let's hope the tide is a long way out!

England beat Kosovo 5-3 in the football last night.  Kosovo took the lead after 34 seconds which is the quickest goal against us since 1993!  Harry Kane missed a penalty and it was an interesting match.  We certainly need to tighten up our defence.

England cricketer James Anderson has claimed the pitches prepared this summer for the Ashes tests have played into the hands of the Australians.  I think this is a load of rubbish, the Australians were simply better than us!

I have just found an old book of quotes and it has some great ones in there, this one from John Oaksey..."there are, they say, fools, bloody fools and men who remount in a steeplechase"!  Have a nice day.
