Ryan Bids For Follow-Up

There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with a flat card from Brighton and a jumps fixtures from Worcester.  There is one runner from the Pond House team this afternoon with Hot Ryan contesting the 2m7f handicap hurdle at 3.40pm.  She was a course and distance winner last time out and is 5lbs higher in the weights for that success.  She is reopposed by the runner-up from that day and there should be little between them once again.  With conditions to suit, she looks to have a good chance under stable jockey Tom Scudamore.

I see that Hayley Turner took a nasty looking fall at Sandown on Friday and her mount Sir Dandy had to be withdrawn.  Hayley has had to go to Sir Peter O'Sullevan House in Newmarket to undergo further assessment.  Hopefully she will be back in the saddle very quickly.  I am amazed that I managed to get through my 40 year career without ever being kicked or bitten by a horse.  That is probably because I never got that close to them...even when I was saddling!

There looks to be a problem at Tottenham Hotspur.  The manager Mauricio Pochettino says that he has had plenty of offers to join other clubs.  Why would other clubs be expressing an interest if he was happy to stay at Spurs?  He says that he has had clear the air talks with chairman Daniel Levy, although it doesn't sound good to me.  Spurs take on Arsenal away today at 4.30pm on Sky Sports.  Now, that is what I call a crunch match for the manager.  The fans of these two clubs do not get on and if Spurs lose, the pressure on the manager will only increase.

It would seem that England bowling legend Jimmy Anderson is finished as an Ashes cricketer.  He has been ruled out of the final two matches with a right calf strain after bowling nine overs for Lancashire Second XI against Durham.
