There are six meetings today, flat cards at Redcar, Leicester, Windsor and Chelmsford City plus jumps cards at Cartmel and Huntingdon.  Tom Scu goes to Cartmel for just one ride and the one ride theory could work today for him!  The horse is called Doing Fine in the 3.20pm race and he looks to have a good chance.  David has no runners today but how many times did we hit the bar over the weekend?!  You Say What finished second at Uttoxeter as did Jacbequick.  Delface was third at Ffos Las on Saturday evening and Buster Edwards was third at Fontwell yesterday.  The horses are in good form it was just a shame we did not get a winner.

What about Irish trainer Tom Shanahan who took his winning horse to the pub on his way home?!  It was his first winner as a trainer at Wexford.  He won by 23 lengths and he was backed from 33/1 into 10/1.  I wonder what state he was is when he left the pub and I wonder what the horse had to drink?!

Owner Darren Yates is certainly spending some money at the moment.  He forked out over £700,000 for a potential classic hope at the Arqana Breeze Up sale.  Don't forget only last week he spent £620,000 for Interconnnected at Doncaster sales, the highest auction price for a jumps horse in training ever.

I wonder what the oldest ever jockey to ride a winner is?  Well 54 year old Jamie Alexander won the hunter chase at Kelso yesterday aboard Racing Pulse.  I bet the jockey's pulse was racing a bit too but many congratulations to him as it is an amazing achievement.

The football play off today is Aston Villa against Derby at 3pm.  Villa are 5/4 and that will do for me!  They reckon the match is worth £180 million to the winner.  I see Mike Ashby has agreed to sell Newcastle for £350 million to Dubai based billionaire Shaikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan, that is a bit of a mouthful!  So Newcastle could soon be buying lots of new players!

It was no fairy tale ending for darts legend Raymond Van Barneveld who lost to Michael Van Gerwen in the last 16 of the Dutch Masters.  Raymond is retiring at the end of the season.

I married Miss Right, I just didn't know her first name was Always!  Have a nice day.
