There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Ayr, Yarmouth and Kempton as well as jumps cards from Warwick and Southwell. David has a runner at both jumps fixtures with Story Of Friends at Warwick and Percy Street at Stratford. Story Of Friends (pictured above) makes his hurdling debut in the 2m3f maiden hurdle at Warwick at 2.20pm. Our five year old was successful in an Irish point-to-point and showed himself to be a useful recruit when running out the decisive winner of an Exeter bumper last time. We know he jumps and will stay this longer trip and he looks to have sound claims under Tom Scudamore. Tom then travels to Southwell where he takes the ride aboard Percy Street in the novices' handicap chase at 5.45pm. Our six year old is making his chase debut following a hurdles win at Wincanton last time - he has schooled well at home and is just 2lbs higher than when successful. He is another with a good chance. He looks like he has Jaboticaba to beat.
Malangen finished third at Huntingdon last night and he clearly remains in good form as he was trying to concede weight to the two in front of him. He is only a youngster so there is the chance that he is still improving, although it does look as though the handicapper has caught up with him for the time being.
Let's hope that stable jockey Tom Scudamore is among the winners today as it is his 37th birthday. Many happy returns Tom...
I see there were no claims for the winner of the five furlong claimer at Wolverhampton yesterday. I know I keep banging on about it, but if they held these contests over middle distances it would generate some interest among the jumps trainers and that would generate revenue for the tracks...looks like I am talking to myself (for a change!).

I will be having a few quid on Matt Wallace at 10/1 for the Made In Denmark golf tournament that gets underway tomorrow after his third place finish in the US PGA last week. I will also have a little bet on racing fan Lee Westwood at 33's.
Arsenal captain Laurent Koscieiny says that the Europa League Final should not be played in Baku. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has withdrawn over safety fears. I think he has a point as it looks certain there will be trouble.

A hamburger walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve food here!" Keep smiling...
