Eur Gone West runs at Perth

Today there are five meetings, jumps cards at Perth, Fontwell, Taunton and Southwell plus a flat card at Epsom.  It looks another well balanced race day!!  David has three runners, one at Perth and two at Taunton this evening.  Eur Gone West runs in the 3.00pm race, a 3 mile listed National Hunt novices hurdle race.  Our six year old is in good form and has won his last two races impressively, the last time over three miles at Taunton on good ground.  There are only six runners but it is a competitive race as you would expect for a £30,000 added prize money.  This is tougher than his last two races but he is on the upgrade and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.  Tom Scudamore has gone up to Perth and rides.  I remember going to Perth many years ago with six runners and five of them won!  Perth is a lovely course and I recommend a visit as they look after you really well.

At Taunton David runs Ourmullion in the 7.30pm, 2 mile handicap hurdle race.  This is his first run in a handicap and he goes off a mark of 97.  He would have to improve on what he has shown so far over hurdles but it looks a fair mark..  He is a multiple winner on the flat but I do find it surprising that the Racing Post have him as favourite.  David Noonan rides.  We also run Dromineer in the 8.00pm maiden national hunt flat race.  He has a good pedigree and is having his first ever run but goes nicely enough at home.  David Noonan is on board.

The big football match tonight is live on Sky, Manchester United versus Manchester City at 8pm.  I would think they will get record viewing figures for this match.  Can you remember when United were as big as 13/2 to win at home?  I think I will just sit back and enjoy the match.  In the over game Wolves play Arsenal and Wolves are 37-19 so that will give me a bit of interest.

I saw Ronnie O'Sullivan lose to amateur qualifier James Cahill, mind you Cahill did beat world number 1 Mark Selby in the UK Championships.  Ronnie looked very tired and looked like he was going to sleep!  Mind you, James did play well and will remember this for the rest of his life.

Have you ever noticed a drunk woman in high heels looks like a baby giraffe trying to walk?!  Have a good day.
