It was certainly a good weekend for the Pond House team with Legal History running an excellent second in a hot looking juvenile handicap hurdle at Newbury on Saturday, while Dauphine Ereine was runner-up at Bangor - they both look capable of winning again.  Yesterday at Exeter we had two winners and a second from just four runners.  Malangen won the selling novices' hurdle  in good style and better still, there was no bid for him at the subsequent auction.  Eur Gone West was our other winner, making most of the running under a well-judged ride from Tom Scudamore.  The step up to 2m7f certainly seemed to help him, as did this better ground as he absolutely bolted up.  His owner Jane Gerard-Pearse was there and this marked a first success for her distinctive 'sunflower' colours.  Story Of Friends showed a good deal of promise to finish runner-up in the bumper and it looks like he will benefit from a stiffer test of stamina in time.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with just one jump card from Wincanton, supported by all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Wolverhampton.

I will be sat in front of the television tonight for the England versus Montenegro game that takes place on ITV at 7.45pm.  I thought they looked good against the Czech Republic and they are 41/100 to beat Montenegro.  I will be putting them in a double with the Ukraine who are also 41/100.  Sounds easy on paper!

There was a good win for Wales over the weekend as they beat Slovakia 1-0.  Youngster Daniel James scored a great goal in his first international match.

Ronnie O'Sullivan won the tour championship last night in Llandudno an picked up the winners' prize of £150,000 for beating Aussie Neil Robertson 13-11 in a cracking final.  In the process he moved back to the top of the world rankings at the grand old age of 43(!) making him the oldest world number one for 36 years.  I wonder what the toilets were like?  That joke went down the pan!

I have fond memories of my childhood.  My dad would often put me inside a tyre and roll me down a hill.  They were Goodyears!  Keep smiling...
