       Malangen Schooling Over Hurdles

Today they are just two meetigs, both over the jumps at Carlisle and Exeter.  David has four runners at Exeter.  Malangen runs in the first race at 2.10pm a novice selling hurdle over 2m1f.  They don't have too many sellers at Exeter.  Our four year old is coming back from a break and does have some form which will put him in with a chance in this open looking race.  Eur Gone West runs in the 2.40pm, a 2m7f novice handicap hurdle.  He finished fourth last time at Taunton and he would again have each with claims with the step up in trip looking likely to help.  You Say What runs in the 3 mile handicap chase at 4.20pm.  He has not run for over 400 days and although he pulled up when last seen he seen he does have some good form prior to that which would make him competitive.  We are hoping for a nice jumping performance and a clear round and he shouldn't be too far away.  Story of Friends runs in the final race of the day, the bumper at 5.25pm.  He ran okay on his Pond House debut last time at Warwick where he just seemed to get tired in the last furlong.  He should improve for that run and go well this afternoon.  There are four first time out horses in the race so they could be anything.  Despite having chances it looks like it could be a tough day at Exeter for the Pond House team.

Willie Mullins will have four runners in the Grand National and they are all guaranteed a run.  He also has horses further down the list which will also run if they get in.  Rathvinden, Pleasant Company, Pairofbrowneyes and Up for Review are the top four and they all look capable of good runs.

I see Harry Whittingdon is saying it would be madness to axe the National Hunt chase from the Cheltenham Festival.  He disagrees with Anthony Honeyball who says he would get rid of the race.  I have to admit that I do side with Anthony Honeyball on this as I did not think this race was a very good advert for National Hunt racing.  Racing is all about opinions but the horse must come first at the end of the day.

Northern Ireland are 3/4 to beat Belarus and Wales are 23/20 to beat Slovakia.  I just hope Wales play Gareth Bale.

What did the goose say when he got cold?  I have people bumps!  Have a good day.
