There are five meetings today.  Jumps cards at Newbury, Kelso and Bangor plus flat cards at Lingfield and Kempton.  David has two runners today, one at Newbury and one at Bangor.  Legal History runs in the 2.40pm at Newbury a juvenile handicap hurdle over 2m2f.  He has had three runs over hurdles and progressed each time finishing second to a useful sort at Doncaster last time.  He runs off a mark of 106 and only carries 10 stone in this race.  The Racing Post have him at 12/1 which looks like a good each way price to me.  Tom Scu rides.  There is still a quarter share available in this gelding so please do get in touch if you have any interest in owning part of this four year old.  David runs Dauphine Ereine at Bangor in the 4pm mares handicap chase over 3 miles.  Our seven year old carries 11st 4lb with David Noonan on board.  She pulled up when she was last seen but has been given a little break since then.  She is 8/1 in the paper and she is not without a chance.

Yesterday at Newbury we had two good seconds.  Remastered ran well to finish second in good looking novice hurdle behind favourite Dashel Drasher.  He looks like a winner waiting to happen and I can't wait to see him over a fence.  Three Star General also ran a cracker to finish second to the favourite Notachance.  Surely his turn is near and he remains competitive.

What a win for England last night in the football as they beat the Czech Republic 5-0.  It seems like Raheem Sterling is improving all the time and he scored a hat-trick and walked off the pitch with the match ball under his arm.  My football bets for today are Burton 10/11 and Swindon 10/11.

Tennis player Dan Evans has tried to defuse his row with Jamies Murray.  Evans had said that doubles stars were players who didn't make it in the singles game.  I have to admit that I agree with Evans.  Would you not want to be Wimbledon singles champion rather than doubles?!  I think Jamie Murray makes a very good living winning doubles titles and he is a very good player but he is probably quite lucky.

What do you get if you cross a burglar with a cement mixer?  A hardened criminal!  Have a nice day.
