          Me, Rod & Penny Yesterday!

Today we have four meetings with Cheltenham of course taking centre stage on Gold Cup day.  There are also cards at Fakenham over the sticks and at Lingfield and Chelmsford on the flat.  Eamon An Cnoic ran a cracker at Cheltenham yesterday to finish fourth not beaten very far.  I thought at two out he was going to win but I did say he had each way claims.  There were certainly lots of close finishes throughout the day and it was a wonderful days action.  I wonder if anyone found the first three horses home in the mares novices' hurdle.  They were 50/1, 66/1 and 40/1.  Some people in our marquee must of as there seemed to be a lot of cheering!

Today I am told Sir Erec will win the Triumph hurdle and he is even money in the Racing Post.  The Gold Cup looks very open but I like the look of Presenting Percy with Davy Russell on board.  I am also told that Gordon Elliott is very keen on his horse in the Martin Pipe race 5.30pm, Dallas Des Pictons.  We know it is a race he loves to win as you know he used to work at Pond House.

It was a great day for racing yesterday, a magical day.  Bryony Frost became the first lady to ride a Grade 1 winner on board Frodon in the Ryanair Chase.  She gave the horse a fantastic ride and she is such a good talker that it is brilliant for racing.  She also popped into our marquee with dad Jimmy so it was lovely to see them both.  Another former jockey Johnny Williams also came into see us.  He was a flat and jump jockey but those of you about my age might remember him!  I also went to see my old mate Rod Stewart and wife Penny so it was good to catch up with them.  I am so lucky to know some of these people, all who I met through hitting a little white ball over a 6" net!!

It is the last day in the marquee obviously today and it has been a great week so far.  It has been lovely seeing so many people again and lots are already talking about next year!

Chelsea won nicely last night...I love football betting!  What is there more of the less you see?  Darkness!!  Enjoy the final day everyone.
