There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Newbury and Doncaster as well as flat fixtures from Lingfield and Newcastle.  David has a runner at both meetings today with Friday Night Light at Newbury and Legal History at Doncaster.  Friday Night Light (pictured above) contests the 2m4½f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 1.45pm.  He was runner-up at Market Rasen last time out on good ground and this slightly softer surface should help.  He has won at the track and looks to have decent claims once again under Kieron Edgar.  Over at Doncaster, Legal History is favourite for the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 2.10pm.  A decent performer on the flat, he has shaped promisingly against some useful opposition on his two starts over timber and looks to have a very good chance today under Fergus Gregory.  There is still a 25% share available in him and this looks like a good chance to own a winner...not many people can lay claim to that!  Further details can be found by clicking here...

We hit the goalposts again yesterday with three more places at Taunton and Ludlow with Airton and First Lord de Cuet finishing runner-up at Taunton and Teaser third at Ludlow.  It is good to see the horses continuing in good form, although it would be nice to convert some of these places into wins.  All three of them should be winning more races going forward.

Mrs Jo Supple was in the winners' enclosure at Taunton yesterday following her easy success on Master Baker in the Hunter Chase.  She certainly looks a lot more stylish than husband Gerry ever did (and I'm sure he would be among the first to agree with me)!  That was the only winning favourite on the seven race card so the bookmakers went home happy.

I see that Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as the manager of Fulham after just 106 days.  He did himself no favours when winning the Premier League with Leicester.  The trouble is, all the teams that he manages now think that he is going to be able to do the same for them.  Fulham simply do not look like a Premier League side.  Spurs look like they could also lose their manager Mauricio Pochettino to Real Madrid in the summer...Spurs are going through a bad patch at the moment.

Police are asking youths to teach them how to skateboard in Glastonbury in a bid to improve relations with the law.  I would have thought they had better things to do than that, such as preventing crime!  Anyway, what do I know?!
