Today there were due to be four meetings but unfortunately Plumpton has been abandoned as has Leicester while the all-weather fixture at Lingfield is also subject to an inspection (it does now go ahead).  David was due to have one runner at Plumpton, Whitley Neill but these abandonment's means there is no jumping action across the country today.  We do still have one runner at Wolverhampton this evening, Picture Painter runs in the flat handicap over 1m4f with Finley Marsh on board.  He has been rather disappointing over hurdles for the stable but he goes well at home so fingers crossed he will enjoy running on the flat tonight.  The weather is very frosty down in the West country also and if you are out and about on the roads drive carefully.

I see that footballer Stuart Pearce says jumps jockeys must be mad, psycho as he was known to say!  Rugby league, boxing and jumps jockeys are the toughest sports to be involved in.  Looking at those three sports I think he has probably got it right  I also think his tackles back when he was playing would not do you a lot of good!

How did Manchester City lose to Newcastle last night 2-1?  The door has been left wide open for Liverpool who play Leicester this evening.  Bournemouth play Chelsea tonight as well.  Liverpool are 4/1 on and Chelsea are 1/6.  I think I might just watch!  Manchester United got away with a draw at home to Burnley, scoring two late goals to make it 2-2.  They showed fighting spirit o keep their manager's unbeaten record going.

Andy Murray had surgery on his hip on Monday with the aim to get back to play at Wimbledon.  I see a top surgeon has said he could see Andy putting himself under too much pressure and you should give these things as much time as they need.  Rushing back could do it more damage.  Time will tell.

In boxing I see that Conor McGregor got off lightly with a £38,000 fine but his rival Khahib Nurmagomedov was fined £380,000 and suspended for nine months.  It seems a bit unbalanced to me?!

What illlness do martial artists get...kung flu!!
