Today there are just two meetings, both over the jumps at Exeter and Ayr.  David has two runners at Exeter, Drama King and Aurillac.  Drama King runs in the 1.10pm handicap hurdle over 2m2f.  He was a good fifth at Ascot in a novice hurdle just over a month ago.  He is a very fragile horse and has not had many runs in his life but he has ability.  He needs to improve a bit to win this race but there is no reason he can't with that recent run behind him and Tom Scu on board.  Aurillac runs in the novice chase at 3.25pm.  He pulled up on his stable debut at Newbury but that run was not without promise.  It will be good for him to get a clear round today from which he can build on.

I see from reading that lots of the jockeys seem to have colds at the moment.  Sam Twiston-Davies has said the weighing room could do with it's own chemist!  I know it is the time of year for all sorts of bugs but I don't think the fact none of these lads east very much can help them fight off the coughs and colds.  I remember when AP used to come to the yard and often spent time in the sauna.

What about the Houston based owner Michael Tudor who made a 9246 mile round trip to watch his horse Gettysburg Address run at Musselburgh and the race meeting was called off because parts of the track were frozen!

There is a local derby in the football as Fulham play Tottenham at 4pm.  Spurs are 8/11 even without Harry Kane.  They don't like spending money either so I don't think they will buy another striker in the January transfer window.  Hurddersfield play Man City at 1.30 and City are 8/1 on to win away from home.  There was a good picture in yesterday's Racing Post of Jimmy Greaves.  He said "football is a funny old game".  How true these words are!  I think he was talking about the Spurs versus Man United game last week.  Not too long ago I went to Jimmy's birthday party and it was good to see all the old Spurs players.

What do you call fourteen rabbits hopping backwards?  A receding hareline!  Have a nice day.
