Three Meetings

        Jacbequick runs at Leicester

Today there are four meetings and David has runners at three of them!  There are jumps cards at Hexham and Leicester while there are flat cards at Lingfield and Kempton.  David runs Know the Score in the first race up at Hexham, a 2m4f maiden hurdle.  He is an Irish point to point winner and a Towcester bumper winner on soft ground.  He's Tom Scu' only ride of the day and he will go off a short priced favourite and should be a good thing.  He was third at Chepstow on his hurdling debut and the form of that race looks very good, the fourth has come out and won since and fingers crossed we can do the same this afternoon.

Jacbequick runs in the 2m handicap hurdle at Leicester at 2pm.  He won on good ground at Fakenham and the ground today is pretty patchy.  I would think if the ground is not too soft he will run a a nice race.  It is only a small field but pretty competitive.  David Noonan rides.

David has two runners at Lingfield in the 11.40am race.  Aldrin and Mutanaqel run in the 1m4f handicap.  Aldrin has been in good form over hurdles recently but is having his first start on the flat since May 2017.  Luke Morris rides and he looks to have a good chance.  Mutanaqel looks to have a bit to find judged on his price in the Racing Post.  He does have some decent form on the flat in the past and you can probably forgive his latest hurdle run as he did not like the soft ground at Exeter.  Finley Marsh rides and takes off a handy three pounds.

Both of yesterdays runners, Eur Gone West and Three Star General ran well and were placed.  Eur Gone West looked like he bumped into one and finished second while Three Star General Led until the second last after which he just got a little tire and finished third.  Both should have no trouble in winning races in the future.

I see that it is David McGreavy's birthday today, he is 61.  He is a bloodstock agent and he once broke into the Newmarket tennis club so that he could play me at table tennis.  It was however a waste of time because he was useless!  We did not damage anything either by the way!

In the Champions League last night Liverpool won and Spurs got a late equaliser to get the draw and go through.  Tonight the big match is Valencia v Manchester United at 8pm.  Valencia are 13/8.  There was a good result for Walsall who beat Sunderland 1-0 in the FA Cup.  It will be the first time that Sunderland have missed the third round in 31 years.

In darts I see everyone is building up the Welsh man Gerwyn Price as the new bad boy of darts.  He loves to wind up opponents and irritate the crowd with his OTT celebrations.  Mind you he looks like he can handle himself as he's an ex rugby union and league player.  I think all characters are good for sport.  The World Darts Championships start tomorrow,
