Three year old gelding who was runner-up on
the flat at Maisons-Laffitte on Saturday night.
Looks a smart prospect for juvenile hurdles.

Entries & Recent Form

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Wincanton, Market Rasen and Leicester as well as an all-weather flat card from Chelmsford City.  David has two runners at Leicester today; Ekayburg and Miro.  Ekayburg (pictured above) contests the 1m7½f novices' hurdle at 12.35pm and our four year old is forecast to be the odds-on favourite.  He finished fourth at Chepstow on his debut but got stuck in the tacky ground that day but should have no such problems today.  The run should have blown away any cobwebs too - a repeat of his good French form should be good enough to land this and a big run is expected.  Miro runs in the 2m4½f handicap hurdle at 2.45pm - he finished fourth at Exeter last time and I don't think he will be 40/1 again.  His one win in Ireland came on good ground and I think he will go well.  Tom Scudamore is aboard both of our runners.  Hot Ryan is our runner in the mares' novices' hurdle at Wincanton at 1.00pm, while she has shown some promise in her starts to date, more is probably required to figure here.

Take The High Road finished sixth in the claimer at Ludlow yesterday.  I notice that two of the field were claimed for £5,000 - it will be interesting to see how they fare in future.  Dauphine Ereine finished fourth in the staying chase, a  bad stumble on landing at the fourth last put paid to her chances.  I think she could probably do with coming back a little in distance too.

I have to say, I was most amused to read the official going at Leicester ahead of their card this afternoon.  It is currently good/firm (good in places, good/soft in the home straight).  They should have just said that we have some ground that will suit your horse somewhere!

Manchester United earned their best result of the season last night as they drew 2-2 with Arsenal.  Even so, I can't see this meaning they will be in the top four by Christmas - I think Jose Mourinho has that one wrong.  Meanwhile, there was a good result for Wolves as they beat Chelsea 2-1...not so good for my football bets however!

Apparently Ronnie O'Sullivan turned down the opportunity to be on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.  Remember snooker legends Steve Davis and Jimmy White have been in the jungle in previous series.  He says that if the show did not clash with the tournament he is currently playing with he could swing in on a vine like Tarzan in his thong.  Not a pretty sight I am sure.

What did the farmer say to his cows at night?  It's pasture bed time!
