There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with a flat card from Brighton and a jumps fixture from Worcester.  Although there are no runners from Pond House, stable jockeys Tom Scudamore and David Noonan have each picked up a spare ride at Worcester.  I see there is an Irish raider in the concluding maiden hurdle - it never ceases to amaze me why they would come across for such races.  Even if they were to win, I can't imagine there would be much prize money left over after the horses has been transported over and back again.

I always keep a keen eye on the results of the bloodstock sales and sometimes the price tags are just plain frightening.  In fairness to David, he has proven time and again that you don't have to spend a fortune to get a nice horse and he has some reasonably priced types at the moment.  If you are interested, do give David or his team in the office a bell and they would be happy to help...tell them Chester sent you!

On Monday one of my old mates, Peter Hedger was fined £140 after a member of his team threw a bit of water on a horse trained by Ian Williams in an effort to get it to go down to the start.  Just think, after racing they throw bucket-fulls of the stuff over them to cool them down!  Surely some common sense should be employed when deciding on such action?  I wonder if Peter got his money back from Ian Wiliams?!

The big match of the day is between Burnley and Manchester United and it kicks off at 4pm.  I hope United win, otherwise manager Jose Mourinho will be going mad blaming everyone but himself.  Some of the things he comes out with are just outrageous and he seems intent on upsetting a lot of people.  His latest attack is on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp who has never come across as anything other than a good bloke.

You would have thought that Tyson Fury's team would have known that he didn't have a US fight licence so his super fight with Deontay Wilder could be in doubt.  Las Vegas could well have to put up with Elton John instead...I know who I would prefer to watch.  A candle in the wind would be more exciting!

I used to live in a teapot.  I know what you are thinking...poor you!
