Today we have four flat cards at Chelmsford, Ffos Las, Nottingham and Thirsk. I recently found out that the average age for jump jockey's to retire is at 30. It is not a long career. There are 374 PJA members and JETS does a wonderful job in helping jockey's when they have finished their riding career. Since 1995 they have helped 350 jockey's into employment after racing. Tommy Dowling says "you get a bit of a tunnel vision as a jockey, you think about one thing and only one thing, so you don't know what to do when it is taken away from you". A lot of jockey's seem to work in the stables they rode for, we have several in our yard.
I see the firm ground has meant that Bath has lost another meeting and Brighton will host it instead a week tomorrow. Surely there is someway in this day and age that Bath could get some sort of watering system in place? I don't know the reason but is there no water available or is it too expensive for ARENA Racing to pay for?
I see the American Ryder Cup Team are wondering if Tiger Woods would be an asset to them? I know he finished second in the last major with a brilliant 64 in the final round but to me he does not seem like a team player and his Ryder Cup record is not very good! I know the fans in France would love to see him play. It is a big decision. The bookies have jumped on the bandwagon and Tiger is only 12/1 to win the Masters at Augusta in April.
Celtic look to have it all to do in the Champions League qualifier against AEK Athens. They drew 1-1 at home and Athens are 17/10 to win tonight's match. That looks a bet to me, sorry Sean and Bob!
This taxi drove past me and it was covered in chilli sauce...it was a mini kebab! Have a good day.
