What a day for David at the Festival yesterday, all the horses ran well.  In the first race Mr Thriller was a creditable sixth and then came Buena Vista!  Our ten year old gave young Conor O'Farrell a great ride and won by four lengths.  It was Conor's first ever ride at the Festival and what a ride he gave our gelding from the front.  David and MCP went through the video of last years race with Conor and told him to make all, he certainly did that and now Buena Vista has won this race two years in a row.  There was a wonderful reception coming back into the winners enclosure and he truly is an amazing horse.  This was his seventh visit to the Festival in a row, his second win and he also has some places to his name as well.  Charteux was still in contention 2 out and ran a decent enough race and the World Hurdle was a great race between Big Bucks and Grands Crus. Conor O'Farrell post Pertemps - Audio Interview here

The Champion retained his crown and his a superstar.  Our horse lost nothing in defeat and he has just been unlucky to come up against one of the greatest stayers of recent times.  Ashkazar seemed to be running a nice race until he got hampered on the bend and then he seemed to lose interest.  There will be another day.

Consigliere ran a fine race to finish fourth on ground that was probably a bit too lively and Matuhi ran another solid race to finish sixth while Piraya was pulled up at the 8th fence, not his day.  Junior won the Kim Muir in emphatic style.  I think everyone in our marquee backed our gelding and the cheers that went up were just as loud as when Jonothan Lower bought a round of drinks once!  Faasel ran another cracker to finish runner up for the second year in a row.  Someone told me they even saw Jim Ennis smile, Jim always gives me stick!  A Thursday at Cheltenham does not get much better than this and David is also leading the trainers table after day 3!  We have had two winners, two seconds and two fourths.  We flew home in the helicopter, David, MCP, Leanne and myself although we could have flown home without the helicopter we were that high!  Check out the video footage below of Junior coming back into the winners enclosure!  Fingers crossed the horses run well today the final day of the Festival.  David has six runners and we have course have the blue riband event, the Gold Cup to look forward to.  Although we do not have a runner in the race we shall all be cheering on Midnight Chase who is trained by neighbour Neil Mulholland and is being ridden by Tom Scudamore.
