Lovely Jubbly!

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with National Hunt fixtures at Catterick and Leicester supported by all-weather flat cards from Newcastle and Chelmsford City.  Tom Scudamore and David Noonan have both picked up an outside ride at Leicester, although I don't think I will be subscribing to the 'one ride' theory today!  There are no runners from the Pond House team this afternoon.

I see there were some Irish raiders on the all-weather at Lingfield yesterday afternoon.  It is hard enough when the big boys come over and try to land the big prizes over jumps and on the level during peak times, but on the all-weather in January?!

There was another dead-heat yesterday, this time in the amateur riders' race at Ludlow.  You would have thought with the technology available to them in this day and age that they could sort a winner out.  Having said that, they still get it wrong in the football!  Talking of amateur riders, Miss Serena Brotherton helped me out again yesterday.  You can almost back her blind against the other amateurs, she is that much better than the rest.  She was successful at Kempton aboard 5/1 chance Time To Blossom...lovely jubbly!

Chelsea and Arsenal played out a draw yesterday with neither team able to score.  You would think that Arsenal will be favourites for the return leg at home.  I will be glad when Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has served his touchline ban.  I enjoy watching him moaning at everybody as he thinks that every decision is against him!

I see that Amir Khan has signed for promoter Eddie Hearn.  At one time he never spoke with Hearn - it is probably the only way he is going to get an more fights and earn some money.  I can't see him ever being world champion, especially not with his glass chin and going up in the weights.

I have been trying to follow a bit of the BDO world trophy of darts from Lakeside but the trouble is I don't know most of the players?  Why on earth don't they play in the proper world championships?  This is just a pale imitation.
