Times must be good at Spurs, I see manager Harry Rednapp has got a runner in the 4.40pm race at Newbury called Bygones in Brid. The horse won in Ireland and Harry bought him for £100,000.  First of all I thought there must be too many noughts in that price tag but that is the price he paid!  I can see Harry's face twitching and moving in all directions when he is watching the race!  Luckily for Harry the Tottenham match does not kick off until 5.30pm but lets just hope he runs a big race otherwise he may just take it out on the players!  It looks like Persian Snow in the one they all have to beat.  In fact there is another horse in the race that could have been named after Harry.  Careful how you say it but, Balding Banker!

There is some great racing on today with racing at Newbury, Warwick, Ayr, Leopardstown and all-weather action at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David has four runners at Newbury with Ronaldo Des Mottes and Notus De La Tour running in the ultra competitive Totesport Trophy Hurdle at 3.35pm. Ronaldo was second in the race last year and races off a nine pound higher mark today.  He is having his first run of the season and it is a very tough race but he loves the track and is ready for the race so we are hoping he runs well.  Notus De La Tour was fourth at Ascot on his seasonal reappearance and that was a stepping stone for this race.  Again it will be tough for our five year old but we are hoping both of aour horse have each way claims.  I'msingingtheblues and Senses make up our Newbury team while Mr Bennett heads to Warwick and is looking to recapture some of the good form he showed a couple of seasons back.  We have a very busy day tomorrow with eight runners at Exeter.  Check back here tomorrow for more news of our Sunday team.

The Philip Hobbs Bumper horse Cheltenian looked impressive at Kempton yesterday, mind you it did try and take the second favourite out inside the last furlong when swerving to the left!  It looks like they should run him maybe on a left handed track in the future as he did the same when running in Ireland.  He still looks very useful though, which way round is Cheltenham?! There was another very impressive winner yesterday, Pere Blanc.  It was his first run in a handicap and he won by a very easy 15 lengths.  I do hope that trainer David Arbuthnot has got a follow up race in mind as he won yesterday off a mark of 95 and I could easily see the handicapper raising him 20 pounds.  He will certainly win again running with a penalty.
