This afternoon there are four meetings taking place with two over sticks at Hexham and Warwick as well as two all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Kempton.  Tom Scu's long journey up to Doncaster yesterday yielded a second place aboard his only mount of the day, so I guess it dispells the theory about jockeys travelling to a meeting for one ride!  The stable has no runners this afternoon and Scu takes a well-earned day off.

Today we have three meetings taking place with two over the sticks at Doncaster and Fakenham as well as an all-weather flat card from Southwell.  Southwell should hand their head in shame - they have an eight race card worth a total of £28,000.  I'm not sure if that is a record low?  I know you don't expect to find the greatest flat racing in the world on the all-weather at Southwell on a Tuesday afternoon but that really does take the biscuit...even more surprising is the number of runners they have.  If I were a trainer I would be considering boycotting meetings like this where the prize money on offer is almost insulting to the owners.  The stable has no runners today so Tom Scu heads north to Doncaster for just one ride - you know what they say about jockeys with one ride at a meeting.  I don't know who says it, but it is a rubbish saying as far as I am concerned!

First of all it is great to be back and apologies that we have been unable to update the website over the weekend due to technical difficulties - sorry for any inconvenience and I hope you haven't missed us too much!  There is quite a bit to catch up on as Cheltenham's Paddy Power meeting took place over the weekend and it is a meeting that David always likes to try to do well at given the rich history of the stable at the fixture down the years.  It was a great meeting for the stable with three winners, including a double on Saturday.  Kings Palace jumped like an old handicapper in making a successful chasing debut - watching it you would never have believed it was his first start over the larger obstacles and he looks top class.

It was a good day for the stable yesterday with two winners from our three runners.  Stars Over The Sea (pictured above) was most impressive in landing a facile success over hurdles at Ludlow under Tom Scudamore.  This former classy flat recruit jumped better than on his hurdling debut and is clearly learning - I am sure he will continue to improve in that department with experience and he looks like a horse of considerable potential.  Dalgig was also quite impressive in victory on the level at Kempton last evening under Mikey Ennis - I wonder if a career hurdling might beckon anytime soon?  Meanwhile Navanman was fourth at Taunton and looks as though he could do with more of a test of stamina.

Today we have four meetings to look forward to with jumping action from Taunton and Ludlow and all-weather flat cards from Southwell and Kempton.  The stable has runners at each of the two jumps meetings, not to mention a rare runner on the level tonight at Kempton.  Navanman posted a creditable first start for the stable when finishing runner-up in a bumper at Worcester behind El Namoose - the winner has won twice subsequently and he looks a nice mount for Conor O'Farrell this afternoon.  Tom Scudamore travels to Ludlow for the ride on facile Kempton scorer Stars Over The Sea (pictured above), while Mikey Ennis is aboard Dalgig at Kempton.

This afternoon we have four meetings taking place, three over the sticks at Bangor, Exeter and Ayr as well as a flat card on the all-weather from Kempton.  The stable has four runners at our local track; Too Generous, Virtuel d'Oudon (pictured above), Serienschock and Lady Of Longstone.  There has been lots more overnight rain and the ground at Exeter is already being described as heavy with some standing water - that makes it sound as though it is almost unraceable, although incredibly as I write this, there is no inspection of the track planned.  Too Generous and Serienschock should certainly handle the prevailing conditions - Too Generous is twice a winner on heavy ground, while Serienschock won four times in gruelling conditions in France.  Tom Scudamore is aboard all four of our runners today.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon, all over the jumps at Huntingdon, Sedgefield, and Lingfield.  The stable has one runner at Huntingdon; Softsong who makes his debut for the Pond House team this afternoon.  Our six year old was pulled up on his final two starts of last season, although he had previously won a maiden hurdle at Doncaster in good style.  Tom Scudamore is on board this afternoon and we will know more about him this afternoon.  The jumps card at Lingfield is set to be held on heavy ground and there are only a number of small fields, indeed there are a total of 41 runners spread across their seven race card.  I would imagine the testing going will find a few of these out and there will be a fair number failing to finish.
