Susan Elaine Crockett

Susie first started working as a stable lass at Pond House in 1988, for five years and then she returned in 2000.

Born 20th November 1959 in Scunthorpe Susie has grown up around horses as her mother used to breed flat and national hunt youngstock.

Throughout her life Susie has worked in a variety of different professions including an antiques centre, a public house, mobile catering and a Chinese restaurant.

Her best time in racing was being paid to lead up a Cheltenham Festival winner – Sondrio in the Supreme Novices Hurdle in 1989.

Susie’s funniest moment in racing was when she was trying to take the blinkers off of Voyage Sans Retour in the winners enclosure at Cheltenham. They flicked up over the horses eyes and he went berserk, scattering people all around the winner’s enclosure.

Susie has been lucky to look after many good horses during her time at Pond House. She feels that Sondrio, a festival winner would rank highly in her list, as would Valiramix and Shooting Light.

Susie supports Chelsea football team, enjoys walking, cooking and she also likes gun dogs.

Susie’s ambitions/plans for the future are to be as happy as possible without any stress.
