Victoria,
who is known as Vikki was born in Fishguard, Wales in 1975.Vikki started riding when she was ten, and soon after she became an avid member of the Pony Club, belonging to St Davids and District branch. Vikki was a member until she was 21 and represented them on many occasions at disciplines including show jumping, dressage, cross country and was also part of the team that went to Weston Park to compete in a one-day event. When Vikki left school she then went to Pembrokeshire College for two years and studied for a National Certificate in the Management of Horses. While at college Vikki took many exams including word processing. After the completion of her course she is a fully qualified riding instructor. After finishing her course she spent a year teaching and working in a show jumping yard, before commencing another course at Hartbury College studying for a Diploma in Equine Supervisory Management. Vikki spent a couple of years working in point-to-point yards before starting in National Hunt racing. Since joining us Vikki has looked after some well renowned horses including Challenger du Luc, Wahiba Sands and Cyfor Malta. Vikki also looked after a dream horse - Far Cry, and she had the honour of spending 4 ½ weeks in Melbourne, Australia with him for the Fosters Melbourne Cup at Flemington Park. Vikki now only rides out at Pond House part time and has a full time office job in Taunton. Vikki is engaged and has a new addition to her family - Wahiba Sands! Vikki has been retraining Wahiba in her spare time and keeps us all informed of his happy retirement. |
