Leanne Green

Leanne has been working at Pond House since February 2004 as a stable lass.  She travels from her home at Wedmore everyday and is a dedicated member of the team.

Before working at Pond House Leanne studied Animal Science at Bath University and she regularly assists the vet and physiotherapist when they visit the yard.

Leanne began riding at the age of six and she got her own pony at 11.  On her pony Chrissie, she regularly competed at local show jumping events.  She then went on to gain experience with racehorses during school holidays and at weekends working for Pat Murphy from the age of 14.  During her studies Leanne held an amateur flat license and she had nine rides.  The highlight of her riding career was finishing second on Siberian Mystic in the Ladies Derby at Newmarket in 1998.

When her studies were complete Leanne went to New Zealand for six months working for Laurie Laxon.  When she returned she took up the position of head lass at the Murphy's yard until November 2003 when she left and went to work for Caroline Keevil as a work rider.

Leanne looks after some nice horses at Pond House, which include Quick, whom she led up at Cheltenham in December 2004 for his pillar to post victory.
