Ken Rixon

Ken first joined the Pond House team in November 1995 as a stable lad and has looked after many good horses. He looked after a prolific winner during the 1996-1997 season, Indian Jockey who scored on no less than 11 occasions during the term.

During the 1999-2000 season Ken gained his Amateur riders licence. Ken rode in some local point-to-points and also had some rides under rules for the stable. During his stint as an amateur jockey Ken was given the opportunity to ride Doualago around Cheltenham where he finished fourth in an amateur riders Handicap Chase.

In 2003 Ken went to work for David Pipe in his point-to-point yard for two seasons because he wanted another go at race riding. During this time he had ups and downs - the ups being riding winners and the downside being breaking his arm.

Ken has a twin brother and lives in a local village called Hemyock with his father. He now works locally roofing and building but rides out occasionally as he missed the tomfoolery in the yard as he is a bit of a joker!
