There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with three jumps cards from Ludlow, Carlisle and Southwell as well as a flat card from Kempton.  The stable has one runner at Southwell, Susie Sheep (pictured above) who goes in the bumper at 4.40pm.  The filly has had one run in a point-to-point which she won comfortably by 36 lengths on good/soft ground.  The one imponderable is this quicker ground although there is no reason to think that she should not handle it and she looks like a nice filly to have in the stable.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  Talking of ground, how is it that Ludlow seem to have managed to avoid all of the rain that we have endured over the last few days?  The official going is currently a barely believable good (good/firm in places).

A big thumbs up for former flat champion jockey Ryan Moore for taking the time to sign a whole load of race programs that will be auctioned in aid of Littlehampton Lifeboat Station.  Living in Brixham I know how important the lifeboat is, although having said that the one in Brixham is due to close.  It is hard to believe, given how much money the government wastes, that they cannot find enough cash to keep these stations open.  Why don't they hand out some more benefits?  Don't get me started...

In case you missed it earlier in the week, below is another opportunity to see Mike Vince's interview with Gemma Humphrey.  Gemma tells of her move down to Somerset and gives us a horse to follow for the months ahead...

Gemma Humphrey Horse To Follow 2014/15 Season

What a hiding Liverpool took last night at the hands of Real Madrid!  The Scousers lost at home and the Spanish team look completely different class.  What a waste of space Balotelli is - he swapped his shirt at half time with Real defender Pepe.  He must be the worst signing of the season and I hate to say it (I don't actually!), but I did say as much at the time.  They need to get rid of him as quickly as possible, the trouble is, who would have him?

Everton take on Lille tonight live on ITV4 at 6pm.  Everton could be worth a little interest at odds of around 11/5 - the French team are not in the best of form, losing their last two league games.  Spurs should also win, although they are 1/3.

Thought for the day...don't worry about the world coming to an end today, it's already tomorrow in Australia!  Keep smiling...
