Sam started working for us here in January 2008 as a Stable Lad after previously working and riding out for Stuart Kittow and Henrietta Knight.  He’s a local lad whose parents live near Cullompton, and train point-to-pointers.  This is where Sam has got his enthusiasm for riding from.  Born in November 1989, Sam grew up with horses and ponies, riding from a very early age.  As he grew older, he started riding his parents’ point-to-pointers, and so far he has had twenty rides, of which he has achieved three winners.  What a grand sense of achievement for the whole family! 

Sam has been a great addition to the Pipe team with his wonderful sense of fun.  He enjoys looking after Quarry Town and Its Tough, and has a soft spot for them, especially so since Its Tough’s great performance, winning at Sedgefield on 24^th September.  Perhaps this it what feeds Sam’s ambition to become an amateur jockey, and get that winning feeling again with some more point-to-point rides.  Good luck Sam.
