Cara Woollacott

Cara has been Stable Lass at Pond House for a few years now.  She joined the team in September 2002 and has had a medley of experiences and good times since she’s been here.  So much so she can’t pick out one single good time as there are so many!

Since joining us, she has enjoyed watching the success of Miss Fara and Commercial Flyer, whilst they were in her care. Commercial Flyer, half brother to Our Vic, won five races in short succession at the end of the 2004-2005 season, and Miss Fara won the Cesarewitch on the flat in 2002.  As for the current horses she looks after, she says she loves them all so much, she just can’t decide which one is her favourite.

Cara initially gained an understanding of horses by looking after her Mum’s horse.  This, she says, is how she got into horses in the first place.  Following that, she got a work experience placement at Martin Hill’s racing stables near Totnes, which then lead to her deciding to join the Pipe team.  Cara would love to gain more experience in different horse fields and expand her knowledge, her future plans entail learning more about breeding and breaking in.  Good luck Cara!
