There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Beverley, Chelmsford City, Bath and Thirsk, while there is a flat fixture from Worcester.  Although there are no runners from Pond House today, stable jockeys Tom Scudamore and David Noonan have picked up rides at Worcester.  If they need to lose any weight, apparently all the jockeys have to do is sit in the weighing room...they say it gets that hot in there.

It seems like people will bet on just about anything these days.  Paddy Power are even offering 4/9 that Frankie Dettori will get his suspension reduced under appeal and 15/8 that the original decision will be upheld.  I always think that scenarios such as this are a little bit dodgy, where individuals can decide the outcome.  If he is unsuccessful he will miss the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and Glorious Goodwood where Ascot Gold Cup winner Stradivarius is an intended runner.

Don't forget to tune in to BBC4 tonight at 8pm for 'Beach Live'.  The cameras were at the yard a couple of weeks ago to film a feature to be included in the programme.  Trust me, there is a connection between the stable and the Jurassic Coast, but you are going to have to tune in to fine out more!

It's a quiet day on the sports front, but I have already booked my seat in front of the television.  At least there is some cricket on with England taking on India in the third one day international match.  It starts at 12.30pm and is on Sky Sports.  England are 10/11 chances and that will give me a little bit of interest.  There isn't much between the two teams so it should be a good match.

The World Cup has only just finished but already we have to look forward to the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers.  It seems that football now takes part twelve months of the year.  Talking of football, I see that Usain Bolt is on the brink of becoming a professional football player in Australia.  He is in talks with a league side over a six week trial.  The eight times Olympic gold medalist has had trials with Borussia Dortmund and Stromsgodest.  I suppose he would be a quick winger!

Thought for the day...Why is the Discovery Channel not on a different side every day?!  Keep smiling...
