Sadly it is a blank day for jumps fans as Ayr have failed their early morning inspection due to the frost.  That leaves us with two meetings on the all-weather at Lingfield and Wolverhampton, although the card from Wolverhampton is subject to a 10am inspection - let's hope that gets the go ahead.  It is better news for Taunton however as the prestigious Peterborough Chase is due to be held on their card on Thursday, hopefully the temperatures will pick up a bit over the next few days.  Obviously Peterborough is nowhere near Taunton - perhaps it should be renamed the Wellington Chase?!  I bet that idea would soon get the boot!

Ramses de Teillee ran a cracker yesterday to finish second at Fontwell.  He went up 15lbs for his Chepstow success and was trying to give 9lbs to the winner who beat Willoughby Court over timber.  I wonder how much the handicapper will drop him for finishing second, beaten 7 lengths...maybe about 8 ounces?  As far as I can see, the handicapper is very quick to put these horses up, but it takes them much longer to drop them again.  It was still a good performance from our grey and as a five year old, hopefully there is still further improvement in him.

Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury wants to start boxing again, but yesterday he failed to turn up for his UK anti doping hearing.  It does make you wonder why?  I saw him on television recently and he really needs to shed a few pounds.  He looks like he has eaten all the pies, although if you see him, I didn't say that!

There is a bit of football action to look forward to tonight and I will be having a little interest on Burnley at 5/4 to beat Stoke, Crystal Palace at 5/4 to beat Watford and Huddersfield at 19/2 to beat Chelsea.  I watched Chelsea lose to my beloved West Ham the other day and they don't look that keen to me.  Perhaps a cold trip up to Huddersfield may not suit the spoilt Chelsea stars?  Sorry David, I know you're a big Chelsea fan!

My dad always told me, "Never to be too quick to find faults".  Good man, but a terrible geologist!  Keep smiling...
