There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Sandown, Wetherby, Aintree and Chepstow as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton.  David has runners at Aintree and Wetherby today.  Vieux Lion Rouge bids to make it back to back wins in the Becher Chase over 3m2f of the Grand National fences at 1.30pm.  It is a race worth £145,000, so as you would expect, it is massively competitive.  I really rate our runner, even though he is 10lbs higher in the weights than last year - he must go well under Tom Scu.  We also run Rathlin Rose over the National fences (2m5f) at 3.10pm - he finished a good third on his seasonal reappearance and can also go well.

David Noonan heads north to Wetherby where he takes the ride aboard Great Tempo in the three mile handicap hurdle.  He was a winner at Hexham last term but would need to improve on his most recent efforts to land this.  He has also picked up a couple of outside rides on the card.

You Say What was only narrowly denied at Exeter yesterday in the staying chase, trying to concede 19lbs to the winner.  Hopefully, the handicapper will not crucify him, especially as he is due to go up a further 3lbs in future handicaps.  Warthog finished third in the 2m1f novices' hurdle and was not discredited.  The ground at the Devon track was extremely testing and found quite a few of them out.

We had a bit of snow in Brixham yesterday.  It is the first time I can remember since I have lived there, mind you it only lasted 2 minutes and didn't settle so things were quickly back to normal with 18 greens!

I will be backing Burnley at 6/4, Crystal Palace at evens and Huddersfield at 17/10 to give me an interest on the football today.  None of them look to be certainties, so I think I will be backing them in singles.  My team, West Ham have a tricky home game against Chelsea.  The Hammers are 6/1 and that could be tempting...will I ever learn?!

I was on the turkey farm the other day and one of the turkeys challenged me to a fight...he threw down the giblet!  Have a nice weekend...
