Back with a Bang!

Today we have four meetings, all on the flat at Catterick, Newmarket, Newbury and Woverhampton.  There was supposed to be racing at Ayr as well but this meeting was called off yesterday due to waterlogging.  It means the entire three day meeting has been lost which is such a shame as well as the £700,000 prize money they had up for grabs.  The Newbury card looks an absolute cracker.  There are lots of runners and three Group races.  It is not often you have 17 runners in a Group 3 over 5 furlongs.  They go 5/1 the field but it might be better buying a lottery ticket!

It is one of our old owner's 76th birthday today, Stef Stefanou.  Stef owned one of my favourite ever horses, Corporal Clinger.  He was a very good horse who won me some money over the years.

Talk about jockey's working hard.  Danny Mullins was back in action yesterday at Downpatrick, less than 24 hours after riding at Belmont Park in America.  Unfortunately for him he drew a blank at both meetings but it was a good effort to fit both in.  It has also been good to see Nina Carberry back in action in the last couple of days.  She only had her daughter Rosie four months ago!  She has come back with two winners from two ride and she had to be at her strongest to win on Rose River Has at Downpatrick yesterday.

The big football game of the day is the London Derby between West Ham and Spurs.  I'm not sure I would want to back Spurs at 8/13.  There could be a roll up for me with Everton 7/10, Man City 2/13, Man United 3/4 and Chelsea 4/6.  I am mad so I will have an interest on my West Ham at 5/1!

Lewis Hamilton has said he thought about quitting F1 for fashion.  Have you seen some of the outfits he wears?!  I think he he is other colour blind or gets dressed in the dark!  I think he made the right decision!

The back to the future tennis looks interesting.  I cannot remember Bjorn Borg having that hair style and wears his head band.  When I lived in Sweden I only played Borg at ping pong, his father was a Swedish International.

Alcohol doesn't agree with me.  It thinks my wife is attractive!  Have a nice day.
